Analytical Potentials of Official School Statistics Exemplary for the Federal State NRW

Abstract

This article describes a secondary analytical approach to approximately examine the school success of refugees based on data from the German central register of foreigners and official school statistics. An exemplary analysis of the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) demonstrates that, in comparison with non-refugees, refugees are significantly less likely to succeed at school.
