Abstract
This contribution discusses the current development of terms, concepts and the public and political debate with regard to Democratic citizenship education and social studies. It is a fact that the frequent use of these terms and the recurring call for “more Democracy education” has hardly any consequences. It does not strengthen the development of concepts and the promotion of related research. This also applies to the acceptance of good practice in schools, both in education policy and in the educational sciences.
