Abstract
With the recognition of a right to school education at constitutional law level in November 2021 in the context of the Federal Constitutional Court’s decision “Bundesnotbremse-II”, it is no longer only legal, but also educational science and empirical educational research that are called upon to engage in the discussion about the form, content, statement, scope and limits of this new right – in short, its concretization. This has yet to take place, particularly in the educational sciences. This article therefore aims to take stock of the educational science discourse with regard to the new right to education and, drawing on current research and data, asks: How can a minimum standard of school education be concretized in terms of content?
